Smoked Buffalo Wild Turkey Dip

  • ¾ cup cream cheese - softened
  • 2 ¼ cups Franks Red Hot Sauce
  • 2 cups Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing
  • ½ of 1 wild turkey breast - can sub for 1 and a half chicken breast
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup medium cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbs Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbs olive oil

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat your smoker or oven to 300F
  2. Season breast with 1 tbs of the Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, plus salt and pepper. Light on the salt since the hot sauce and chips are already very salty.
  3. Heat a pan on medium high heat with 2 tbs of olive oil. Once the pan is hot add the breast meat. Sear each side for 2 minutes, then let cook until internal temperature of 165F.
  4. Remove meat from pan and let rest for 2 minutes, then pull apart with a couple of forks.
  5. In a large mixing bowl add the cream cheese, hot sauce, ranch, half of the cheese, and the rest of the spices. Mix together until combined, then mix in the meat.
  6. Add the entire mixture to a cast iron pan, small dutch oven or any oven safe pan you have. Top with the rest of the cheese.
  7. Add to your smoker or oven and cook for 45 minutes, until the dip is bubbly and the cheese has lightly crisped up on the top.
  8. Enjoy with your favorite tortilla chips and some ice cold beer!
